RAMP, Albert M. age 91 of Waynesville passed away Sun. Oct. 13 at Spring Hills, Middletown. Born Feb. 26, 1922 in Brownstown, IN to the late Frank and Ada Ramp. Albert was a member of the Waynesville First Church of Christ and he retired from Texas Eastern Pipe Line in 1988 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, especially in Indiana. He also enjoyed helping his son-in-law Sam and his brother Tom at the Bailey's Sinclair Station in Spring Valley. Given the nickname "Ace" because of all the things he could do at the station, he spent much of his spare time and made many friends there. He worked tirelessly at the Miami Cemetery during Memorial Day, helped his daughter with many activities at the American Legion, and while his children and grandchildren were in school, helped with school activities. He was responsible for getting the announcer box built on the old football field, and was recently inducted into the sports hall of fame at Wayne Local Schools. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Mary Lou (Cartwright), a son Curtis Ramp, his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. He is survived by two sons Eddie (Joan) and Paul (Peggy) Ramp, daughter Karen (Sam) Bailey; four grandchildren Rodney and Sammie Bailey and Paul T. and Derek Ramp; nine great grandchildren; and three brothers Jacob, Joe, and Keith Ramp. Funeral services 1 PM Wed. Oct. 16 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Wed. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
