Avery W. Hoskins

April 14, 2008 - March 10, 2020

HOSKINS, Avery W., age 11, of Moraine, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Dayton Children’s Hospital. Avery was currently a 6th grade student at West Carrollton Middle School. He was a member of the Corwin Pentecostal Church, where his father is the pastor of the church. Avery was affectionately known as “Ave Brave” by those that cared for him through his many medical stays and treatments. He was also happy, joyful, and an influential boy. He loved his toys, Barney, watching The Price Is Right, southern gospel music, attending church, and spending time with his siblings and family. He especially enjoyed it when his brothers and sister would make up songs and sing to him, which often resulted in Avery clapping and giggling at them in great fun. Among many things, he will be remembered for the way he always liked to steal your glasses or hat and his love to be snuggled. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandma Carolyn Hoskins. He is survived by his parents Phillip and Bethany Hoskins; three siblings Bryson, Emerson, and Clayton; maternal grandparents Dallas Jr. and Luvenia Lakes; paternal grandparents Phillip and Mary Hoskins; maternal great grandparents Dallas Sr. and Edith Lakes; paternal great grandma Nancy Hoskins; and many extended family members and special care givers. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, March 14 at the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, 3201 Dryden Rd., Moraine, OH. Rev. Bennie Sutherland will be officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Friday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
