Barbara L. Steingraber

September 13, 1943 - May 4, 2022

STEINGRABER, Barbara L., age 78, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Barbara retired in 2014 as a Nurse Aide in an assisted living facility after 10 years of service. Over the years, she lived all over the United States and Canada, where she worked in a variety of occupations, including glass blowing, truck driving, and as a Purchasing Manager. Outgoing, friendly, and loved by everyone, Barbara was called “mom” by all of her friends because she reminded them of a mother. She loved to travel and read. She appreciated all genres of reading, but especially crime fiction novels, most notably those written by Sue Grafton. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, including stain glass artwork, drawing, and painting. In addition, she was a member of the knitting club at the Countryside YMCA in Lebanon. Among many things, she will be remembered for how much she adored her two dogs and her pet bird. She was preceded in death by her husband, Greg, in 2008; one son, Tommy Lindstrom; and her parents, Lewis and Lorraine Hill. She is survived by four children, Butch (Tracy) Lindstrom, Linda Ross, Todd Lindstrom, and James Johnsen; three stepchildren, Billy (Julie) Steingraber, Jimmy (Margaret) Steingraber, and Brenda Steingraber; 12 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Jeffries, Melissa (Gene) Fischer, and Becky Beckett; adopted daughters, Angela Johnsen and Tabitha Barron; foreign exchange students from Venezuela, Nick and Omar; and many friends who were considered family. A celebration of life gathering will be 12:30 PM -3:30 PM Saturday, June 4 at Fraternal Order of the Eagles Hall in Lebanon. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to the Warren County Humane Society. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
