Bernard "Bernie" N. Ames

August 16, 1933 - November 6, 2015

AMES, Bernard N., age 82,of Waynesville, passed away Fri. Nov. 6, 2015 at Southview Hospital. Bernie graduated from Spring Valley High School, class of '51, and was a Korean Conflict Army veteran. He was a Past Master of New Burlington Masonic Lodge #574. He greatly enjoyed farming, woodworking, golfing, traveling, boating, water skiing, and snow skiing. He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia, his parents John and Marianna Ames, one grandson Nicholas H. Ames, and his brother Byron Ames. He is survived by his wife Donna; three sons Nicholas (Cheryl), Bruce, and Stephen (Jamey) Ames; daughter Annalisa (Alan) Davis; step son Bob (Mary) Vatilla; step daughter Sherry (Craig) Smith; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; his sister Sylvia (Jim) Wardlow; sister-in-law Shirley Ames; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services 11 AM Mon. Nov. 9 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. John Beers will be officiating. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sun. at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Humane Association of Warren County.
