CRABTREE, Bernice age 83, of Waynesville, passed away Monday February. 1, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. Bernice was known for her sense of humor, her generosity, contagious smile, beautiful handwriting, and her handmade quilts. She greatly enjoyed writing, word search puzzles, quilting, and sewing. Elvis was her man and NASCAR'S Jimmy Johnson was a close second. When she was younger, she enjoyed working outside. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, stepdaughter Brenda Dees, and her parents Ollie and Bessie Glossip. She is survived by her stepson Dave (Gail) Crabtree; stepdaughter Lynn Crabtree; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Christine Porter and Betty Taylor; brother-in-law Jack Crabtree; and her special neighbors Jackie & Barb Buckland. The family would like to thank her cousins Wanda Cox (and her daughters Pam Gilbert and Kim McKinney), Junie Alexander, Boyd Lamb, Evaline Fairchild, Quaker Heights Care Community, and Hospice of Dayton for their care and visits during the final days of her life. A celebration of life service will be held 1 PM Saturday February 6 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
