COOK, Brenda Sue, age 71, of Waynesville, passed away Thurs. Sept. 13, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center. Brenda Sue was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville. She was soft spoken, humble, perky, loving, and strong minded. She greatly enjoyed flowers, gardening, being in church, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the simple things in life, especially taking rides in the country with her husband, sitting on the front porch of her home, and family gatherings. As an excellent cook, she will be remembered for her delicious zucchini bread at Christmas, chicken and dumplings, sweet potatoes, lemon pie, and pineapple upside down cake. She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Julia Smith, one brother Clyde Charleton, and sister-in-law Margie Charleton. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Odis; one son Bowie Ferguson; three daughters Tina Kilburn, Jamie (Elgie) Alexander, and Diann (Grant) Alexander; eight grandchildren Rocky Alexander, Siara (Corey) Jones, Tyler (Sarah) Alexander, Candace (David) Sexton, Brooke Beachler, Rebekah Kilburn, Gracie Ferguson, and Destiny Alexander; eight great grandchildren Lonna, Katrina, Elloise, Laura, Korbin, October, Laney, and Eligh; and best friends/sisters Loretta Baker and Susie Richter. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tues. Sept. 18 at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville. Tim Noble and David Dixon will be officiating the service. The burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 4-7 PM Mon. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family.
