Cecil Stamps
July 25, 1921 - April 9, 2015
STAMPS, Cecil age 93 of Waynesville and formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Thurs. April 9, 2015 at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville. He served in the Army, 17th Airborne, during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge. Cecil retired as a homebuilder from Brainard Construction Company of Kettering. After retirement, he moved to Hillsboro and started Stamps Construction Inc. and fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a farmer. Cecil greatly enjoyed spending time with family and loved big family gatherings; his favorite pastime was playing cards and a good game of horseshoes. He was also active in the Hillsboro Eagles and 741 Senior Center in Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Sarah Stamps and five siblings Nola, Delbert, Vestal, Ruth, and Daniel. He is survived by his two daughters Wanda (Bill) Downey and Juanita (Charles) Price; three stepchildren Brian (Jenny) Zawacki, Debbie (Dennis) Morgan, and Max Zawacki; four grandchildren Nikki, Teddy, Wayne, and Lynette; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister Betty Stephen; and many very special nieces and nephews. Funeral services 4:30 PM Tues. April 14 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. The family will receive friends 2:30 – 4:30 PM Tues. at the funeral home.
