Marion Carter

October 18, 1926 - March 19, 2015

CARTER, Marion age 88 of Waynesville and formerly of Dayton, passed away Thurs. March 19, 2015 at Heartland of Centerville. Marion graduated from Spring Valley High School, class of '45. He served in the Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW. Former Vice President of the Environmental Services Department at Friendship Village in Dayton, he retired in 2001 after 23 years of service. Marion was very creative, he greatly enjoyed woodworking, gardening, landscaping, and building things. He was preceded in death by his parents Alonzo and Cordelia Carter; two brothers Raymond and Joe Carter; and five sisters Macy Carey, Elsie Davis, Daisy Allread, Margie Carter, and Martha Hoffer. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolores; son Marion G.; daughter Belinda; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four brothers Bill, Glenn, Robert, and James Carter; five sisters Mary Ellen Lacy, Pauline Martin, Donna Greene, Alice Morris, and Jane Masters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services 10 AM Mon. March 23 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Sun. at the funeral home.
