WHALEY, Nicholas “Nick” S., age 30, of Germantown, passed away Thurs. April 25, 2019. Nick graduated from Valley View High School, class of 2007. Easy going, fun with a kind heart, and quite the jokester who loved to make others happy and smile. He didn’t care much for possessions, but instead preferred to be around people and enjoy experiences. He was also known to be a defender of the underdog. His hobbies included golf, playing Halo on Xbox, the Dallas Cowboys, fantasy football, card nights, and music of all types. Some of his best memories included the many family trips to Topsail Beach in NC over the years. Among the many things, he will be remembered for his love of Mountain Dew, sour Skittles, McDonald’s and Taco Bell. He was preceded in death by his grandfather William Evans. He is survived by his parents Gary and Linda Whaley; his brother Michael (Jamie) Whaley; sister Andrea (Jeremy) Payton; grandparents Betty Evans and Henry and Barbara Whaley; three nieces Emma, Evie, and Nellie; two nephews Zane and Jackson; his best friend Dan Payton; and many other close friends and extended family members. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tues. April 30 at the West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Brandon Larson will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 10 AM - 1 PM Tues. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
