HAUSER, Opal Elizabeth (Roberts) Hauser, Opal Elizabeth (Roberts) Age 85, of Oregonia, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Meadowbrook Care Center, Montgomery. Opal was born on August 11, 1923 near Lebanon, Ohio to the late Jessie Isadora ("Billie" Lewis) Roberts and the late Walter ("Bub") Roberts. Opal met her future husband when the neighbor girl took her to the wheat fields on the Hauser family farm to meet her brother and step-brother (Dick). Opal fell in love that day at first sight of the "little guy with the brown eyes" that flirted by throwing wheat at her. After marrying, they raised seven wonderful children together and loved each other with all their hearts until their last breath. Opal worked at various jobs outside the home during the earlier years of their marriage to supplement the family income, but her most important job was "Mom". Opal was a member of the Winton Road First Church of God, Fairfield and formerly a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church, Oregonia. She was preceded in death by her parents, numerous aunts & uncles, sister & brother-in-law Doris & Garner Howard, brothers-in-law Cecil Purvis and Woody Campbell, sons-in-law Dick Koch and Gene Petrey, great granddaughter Ashley, and the love of her life, Walter "Dick" Hauser. Opal is survived by her daughter Linda Petrey of Hamilton, daughter Kathy (Steve) Conner of Waynesville, son Ted (Donna) Hauser of Lebanon, son Roy (Linda) Hauser of Hamilton, son Chris (Sandy) Hauser of West Chester, daughter Carol Hauser of Novi, Michigan, son Jim (Sharon) Hauser of Middletown, 14 grandchildren Jeff, Becky (Bruce), Steve (Leah), Brian (Donna), Tonya (John), Brad (Missy), Tammy (Chad), Josh (Nicky), Amanda (Jarrod), Jessica (Wes), Chrystal, Tia, Jennifer, & Samantha, 16 great grandchildren Nickolas, Zachary, Hannah, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Addison, Brydon, Erica, Kyle, Carly, Wesley, Jamie, Marissa, Bryson, Zoe, and Gracie, sister Virginia Campbell of Lebanon, brother Kenneth (Nora) of Sabina, brother Donald (Jackie) of Oregonia, brother Raymond (Hazel) of Harveysburg, sister Margaret (Dan) of Lebanon, & many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, July 21 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, 185 N. Main St., Waynesville. Funeral services 10:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastors Brian Buriff & Ann Myers will be officiating. Interment in Miami Cemetery.
