Ray and I would like to send our deepest condolences to Dorothy’s family. We were members of the Waynesville Garden Club since 2000, so that is when we met Dorothy. She was always very friendly and so knowledgeable about flowers and plants. We learned so much from her. What I will cherish the most about Dorothy is when we had meetings at her house, she was such a wonderful hostess. We will miss her.

Pam and family, I will most certainly miss my dear friend, Dorothy. She was always so generous to volunteer with any project or event at St Augustine Church; always with a big smile, encouraging attitude and a often a little chuckle. She was quite a role model for us in her practice of Faith in God and life as a Christian. So many memories that I will always have, especially how much we all enjoyed her snickerdoodle cookies.
I moved from Waynesville many years ago but I remember Dorothy from our mutual membership in the Waynesville Garden Club. Dorothy was always smiling and enjoyed sharing her gardening knowledge. I stopped by her house a few times when we were involved with gardening projects. She was a very sweet soul. Sincere condolences to her family.

Pam, your mom was such a sweet lady. I will always remember the time that I spend Thanksgiving at your house and how the two of you had so much fun cooking. I feel like I know her better from all the stories that you told us about her and how she loved to travel with you. Your family is in my heart and prays.

Where do I start to say goodbye to my dear friend who I met as a bingo volunteer on the day she found out her husband had a terminal illness. We planned and cooked church dinners, went to lunch with the girls, travelled to Mackinac Island, went to daily Mass and best of all were the chats we two would have. Even after I moved back home to northern Michigan we stayed in touch. Our last phone call we talked of her moving and next tentative trip with Pam and Michael. Her love for them and her granddaughters was always foremost on her mind. I always admired your sense of humor and adventure as well as your common sense approach to life. Live it to the fullest you did. As I shed my tears for the last call not made I know you are happy and at peace. Until we meet again in our next life Dorothy may your soul Rest In Peace. Oh Aunt Dottie, I am so very sad to hear of your passing. It seems like last week we just spoke on your facebook page. You and Uncle Joe, my sweet Godfather were so special to me. You always made me feel special and I was so happy for your visits to my home. Before you left for Ohio you blessed me with one of your beautiful paintings which I have treasured all these years. I never told you that many times I looked at it in times of trouble and it gave me hope. Even though it is a beautiful painting of a field along a roadside, the clouds you painted above looked as the the Lord was peeking through at me. Its quite remarkable and always gave me courage. I just want to thank you and Uncle Joe for sharing your love because I always knew it was there and I will carry it in my heart forever. Love, Nancy
Dorothy was a gift.... She was especially comforting to my sister Joan Honaker, their friendship, her many visits to Joan often with flowers, food, but mostly with long conversations....well no money could buy a gift like Dorothy, it was a privilege to know her.
God called her home.
