Alan Weimer's Obituary
Alan Lee Weimer of Waynesville, age 69, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born to Dr. Harold and Laura Weimer in Iowa City, Iowa, on September 25, 1953. He was the eldest of 8 children.
Alan was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn; his son, Eric; grandsons, Connor, Carson, and Cullen; and granddaughter, Savanna. He is also survived by his brothers, Wayne, Jeffrey, Glenn, and Gerald; his sisters, Lisa, Marcia, and Karla; and many nieces and nephews.
Alan graduated from Highland High School in Riverside, IA, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He graduated from Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC, with an Associate’s Degree in Mathematics. He graduated from Park University in Parkville, MO, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Electronics (Physics and Mathematics). He graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Alan enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1972 and served his country honorably for 20 years. A retired Air Force Officer, his last assignment was in Dayton, OH, and he remained in the area. Following his service, he held several Project/Program Management and Business Development positions with companies located in and around the Dayton area. Most recently, he was semi-retired, running an online business and enjoying the calm and serenity of fishing from his boat out on the lake.
A celebration of life service will be held at Noon on Saturday, November 18 at the Riverside VFW, 1259 Riverside Rd., Riverside, IA. A celebration of life gathering will follow the service until 2:30 PM at the VFW. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville, Ohio is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
