Barbara L. Lamb's Obituary
LAMB, Barbara L., age 82, of Leesburg, passed away Tues., Jan. 21, 2020 at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
Barbara graduated from Kingston High School in Kentucky, Salutatorian of her class of 1955. She was a preacher’s wife and member of the Red Lion Lord of Glory Holiness Church. In addition, she was the first day shift woman custodian at Franklin City Schools, and she always said how much she enjoyed working with kids.
Patient, humble, loving, and easy-going, Barbara always had a positive attitude and put others before herself. She greatly enjoyed working in her yard, flower and vegetable gardening, and canning. Canning became a passion and she always took great pride in having enough to give to others. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, and for most of her life she kept a beautiful aquarium of guppies. Among the many things, Barbara will be remembered for her delicious cooking, especially her buckeyes, blackberry pie, peach cobbler, and strawberry delight. In addition, almost every weekend Clayton and her children would travel to a junk yard in Indiana, and she would always get up before dawn to prepare food to send for them and the wreck yard owner to enjoy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Clayton Lamb, in 2017; one son Jerry Lamb; and her parents Willgous and Lucille Durbin. She is survived by her son Terry (Melisa) Lamb; daughter Shirlene (Donnie) Rhodus; eight grandchildren Makayla, Morgan, Matthew, and Madison Lamb, Dawnarae Shaelynn, Angelina, and Donovan Rhodus; and two sisters Marie (Bill) Glenn and Margaret (Bud) Creech.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Mon., Jan. 27 at the Red Lion Lord of Glory Holiness Church. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Pastor Danny Lamb will be officiating the services. The family will be receiving friends 4-8 PM Sun. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio Living Quaker Heights.
