Barbara Dean McCarren's Obituary
McCARREN, Barbara Dean age 65 of Waynesville passed away Thurs. Feb. 6, 2014 at her residence. Barbara graduated from Clinton Massie H.S. in 1966, obtained her RN licensure from Sinclair College of Nursing in 1982, BS degree in Psychology from Wilmington College in 1991, and Master's of Education from Wright State Univ. in 2000. She was an RN at Clinton Memorial Hospital for several years, but her passion was in educating future nursing students at Laurel Oaks Career Center. She finished her career at the Great Oaks Institute of Technology. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Harveysburg, was a member and past president of the Clinton County Board of Health, and a active participant and member of various professional and community organizations in Clinton County and beyond. She was preceded in death by her mother Catherine Bolin and two brothers Burl and Benny Bolin. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dennis P; two sons Paul (Cheryl) and Scot (Julie) McCarren; daughter-in-law Michele Kegley (Ed); four grandchildren Noah, Hannah, Hope, and Ella; two step grandsons Samuel and Isaac; her father Rollie Bolin; sister Brenda (John) Lamb; sister-in-law Trina Bolin; niece Tonia Kidd; and two nephews Tom Lamb and Cody Bolin. Graveside services 12:30 PM Wed. Feb. 12 at Miami Cemetery, Corwin. A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Mon. Feb. 24 at Friendship Baptist Church, Harveysburg. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Care Hospice 200 R. Gordon Dr. Wilmington, OH 45177.
