Barbara Roche's Obituary
ROCHE, Barbara, age 88, of Waynesville and formerly of Enon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville. She was born in High Wycombe, England, to the late Walter and Violet Chapman.
Fiesty, independent, and caring, Barbara was friendly, outgoing, and always chatty with family and friends. A proudly military wife, she was patriotic and never hesitated to express her admiration for her husband’s military career, our country, and the United States military. She greatly enjoyed flower gardening and keeping her yard nice. In addition, she loved trying her luck via scratch-off lottery tickets.
Barbara enjoyed getting together with her family during the Christmas holiday. She always looked forward to playing card games and Wii Bowling with her family during the get-togethers. With her traditional British upbringing and heritage, she also enjoyed British Christmas crackers. She also loved the tradition of enjoying Tetley’s English Tea with cream and sugar each afternoon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald Chapman. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Patrick; two sons, Kevin (Shawn) Roche and Steven (Ana) Roche; four grandchildren, Danielle (Justin) Smith, Heather Roche, Bella Roche, and Elliana Roche; and great-grandson, Mason.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 13, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home on Saturday. If desired, contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
