Bertha L. New's Obituary
NEW, Bertha L., age 81, of Lebanon, passed away Sat. Aug. 24, 2019 at Hospice of Butler/Warren County.
Loving, giving, and extremely family oriented, Bertha was a proud stay-at-home mom who always put others before her self. She loved Elvis, UK basketball, and watching NASCAR, but spending time with her family (especially her two grandchildren) was what she cherished the most. Among the many things, she will be remembered for her delicious thanksgiving dressing and her love of coffee and southern cooking-especially fried chicken, peach cobbler, fried cornbread, vegetable soup, and scalloped oysters.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Junior” in 2013; her parents Beverly and Margaret Dermon; three brothers Frank, Paul, and Billy Dermon; sister Mary Ruth Ogburn; and brother-in-law Charlie Beach. She is survived by five children Dennis (Michelle) New, Gary (Donna) New, Rick (Jackie) New, Debbie New, and Tony New; two grandchildren Austin New (fiancée Kyla Russell) and Mackenzie New; one brother Bobby (Sue) Dermon; one sister Margie Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Fri. Aug. 30 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Bertha’s grandson, Austin New, will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Fri. at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Butler/Warren County.
