Betty A. Bumgardner's Obituary
BUMGARDNER, Betty A., age 81, of Miamisburg and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton.
Betty retired from Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville after working for several years at the front desk.
Sweet, kind, loving, and caring, Betty could also be direct and knew what she liked. She greatly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, watching westerns and Jeopardy, collecting dolls, and baking. Among the many things, she will especially be remembered for her delicious fudge and sweet potatoes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.P., in 1997; two daughters Carolyn Bumgardner and Diana Helton; her parents Harry and Iola Helphenstine; five brothers James, Thomas, Jess, Charles, and Leo Helphenstine; and four sisters Corine Helphenstine, Helen Newdigate, Opal Helphenstine, and Loretta Darlington. She is survived by one son Rick (Becky) Bumgardner; four grandchildren Ricky (Jenna) Bumgardner Jr., Josh (Lauren) Bumgardner, John Pollock, and Amber (Branden) McCarty; one great granddaughter; and one sister Wanda (Harold) Martin.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, October 16 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Bob Jones will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin.
