Betty May Suiters' Obituary
Betty May Suiters, age 94, of Waynesville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 25, 2023, Christmas Day.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Betty was a 1946 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School. Betty dedicated several years to Elder Beerman Department Store in Centerville, Ohio, and later served in the daycare and preschool program at the Countryside YMCA in Lebanon, Ohio.
Betty had a passion for music, singing, dancing, drawing, reading, flowers, and a special love for her dogs. Her nurturing spirit was evident from a young age when her twin baby sisters were born. This early experience sparked a lifetime of love and care for infants.
Betty and her husband, Donald, maintained a home in Louisiana along with their farm in Waynesville, creating a tradition of traveling back and forth several times each year in their not-always-so-trustworthy vehicles. She cherished family get-togethers, parties, and reunions at the farm, creating lasting memories with loved ones.
Among her many joys, Betty will be remembered most for her deep love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, particularly the little ones.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Coughlin; her second husband, Donald Suiters; a daughter, Debi Ventura; great-grandson, Jeremy McDaniel; and two brothers, James Brewer and Raymond Brewer.
She is survived by four daughters, Cindi (Gene) Prewitt, Diana Coughlin, Cheryl (Dave) Albers, and Dawn (Scott) Stiles; 12 grandchildren, Theresa Gilliam, Donna Keith, Michelle Lilly, David Prewitt, Lori McGuire, Jaci Prewitt, David Albers, Andrea Bly, Dagan Stiles, Drake Stiles, and Peyton-Riley Stiles; 14 great-grandchildren, Matthew Lilly, Zach McDaniel, Samantha Cooper, Tiffany McDaniel, Amanda Badia, Megan Gilliam, Logan Gilliam, Jesse Prewitt, Madi McGuire, Jenna McGuire, Andrew Bly, Ben Bly, Colton Albers, and Emma Bly; four great-great-grandchildren, Michael, Augie, Ezekiell, and Jewell; two sisters, Janice Lofino and Janet Blevins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on January 3, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Waynesville, officiated by Father Bernie Weldishofer, followed by burial in Middle Run Cemetery. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is honored to serve the family. Condolences can be shared at www.stubbsconner.com.
