Betty D. Trepp's Obituary
TREPP, Betty D., a classy and good Christian lady who followed the teachings of Jesus, age 82, of Waynesville, Ohio and formerly of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020.
Betty earned a degree from Kent State University in early childhood education. She taught first grade at Galion City Schools for a few years before going into business for herself. She ultimately owned and operated Betty’s Bridal in Boardman, Ohio for 30 years.
She was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman for over 30 years. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She was also an active member of the American Business Women’s Association in Youngstown for many years. When her children were young, she participated in their school’s PTA.
Hardworking, nurturing, giving, funny, bubbly, loving, tender-hearted, and intelligent, Betty had a great sense of humor and always saw the good in others. It was her forgiving and kind-hearted personality to always feel that people deserved second chances, even when others may judge differently.
She loved to shop and had a great sense of style. Owning a wedding dress store, she made sure her clothing was always expressive and in-style every day. She also enjoyed swimming, going to the movies, and with such a beautiful voice-singing. She was known to make up a song and sing happy tunes to virtually any activity. Following her retirement, she took great pride in going for long drives, mainly to visit family and friends. Among many things, she will be remembered for her great love of the ocean. She always looked forward to the annual trips to Sarasota, Florida to visit family, to soak up the sun on the beach, and swim in the ocean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1996 and her parents John and Betty Kerrigan. She is survived by two daughters Lori (Kelly) Granger and Mary Kathryn “Kathy” (Michael) Menelle; son Brad (Paula) Crissinger; seven grandchildren Nathan Granger, Zachary (Amanda) Granger, Sarah (Seth) Hare, Lauren Menelle, Sophia Menelle, Isabel Crissinger, and Lily Crissinger; and great granddaughter Olive Hare.
Family service was held in Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline, Ohio. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
