Billie C. Deaton's Obituary
DEATON, Billie C., age 93, of Waynesville, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville.
Billie was born and raised in Union County, Tennessee. She graduated from Maynardville High School, class of ’50. Upon moving to Ohio, she graduated with honors from Miami Jacobs Community College, class of ’61. She was devoted and hardworking, continuing to work well into her mid-70s. Billie was well-known for her secretarial work at Maxon Construction, Oak Ridge, Buck Stove, and Holiday Inn. She officially retired from Kettering Hospital. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Munger Road in Dayton.
When she stopped working, she just wanted to relax, and that is precisely what she did. As a quiet and observant person, she enjoyed people-watching and would watch birds from her chair. She enjoyed her wildflower garden. Among many things, she will be remembered for the love and pride she had in her daughter, her son-in-law, her grandson, and her great-grandson.
Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Andy” Jackson Deaton, Jr., in 1984; her parents, Ruben Henry Vittetoe and Mamie Estelle Vittetoe; two brothers, Carson and Tommy Vittetoe; and two sisters, Blanche Thomas and Gertrude Vittetoe. She is survived by her daughter, Adrianne (Bruce) Bevan; grandson, Andrew Bevan; one great-grandson, Ronan Bevan; and two sisters, Margaret Cress and Sue Acuff-William.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 26, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lebanon. Doug Vogel will lead the memorial service. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
