Brenda Kay Barbosa's Obituary
BARBOSA, Brenda Kay, age 72, of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Brenda graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ’69. She worked at the Village Family Restaurant for 15 years and then worked an additional 15 years at the Wayne Local Schools in the cafeteria. As an extremely loving wife and mother, she was a good-hearted woman, though she could be tough and stubborn sometimes. She tried to help everyone that she could. Every spring, she looked forward to mushroom hunting and couldn’t wait to hit the trails. Her pride and joy were her family: her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her grandsons were the biggest light in her eye. She never missed a game Rylan played in; she always wanted to be there and help cheer him on.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Stella Lewis, and two brothers, Bill and Jerry Lewis. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Virgil; her son, Joseph (Maria) Hall; daughter, Leesa (Rich) Guthrie; two grandsons, Rylan and Easton; several nieces and a nephew; and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 15, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be at Middle Run Cemetery in Waynesville. Rich Guthrie will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
