Brenda Sue Sturgill's Obituary
STURGILL, Brenda Sue, age 68, of Springboro and formerly Waynesville, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties.
Brenda graduated from Brownsburg High School in Indiana, class of '72. Brenda was known as a sweet, quiet, hardworking woman, mom, grandma, wife, sister, and friend who adored her family. She especially enjoyed the Wilson's family Christmas. This inspired her to create many beautiful traditions with her family. The kids and grandkids would come together every Christmas for a "fondue Christmas." On Valentine's Day, she would get her family heart-shaped pizzas. She would take the kids shopping for new book bags each year before school began. The whole family would regularly go on outings to Marion's Pizza. Every morning, part of her ritual was reading her Bible. She enjoyed collecting Coco-Cola memorabilia and Native American artifacts. She was a dental assistant for Doctor Robert Hendricksen and Doctor Rodney Robbins for over twelve years, finally retiring in 2014. She also was a well-known employee for businesses all over Waynesville, including the Family Village Restaurant, the local pharmacy, the lumber yard, the Dairy Corner, and the Creekwood Motel. A hard worker, and an overall good person, she put everyone before herself. Among many things, she will be remembered for the love and pride she had for her family. She looked forward to being a Grandmother and had nine wonderful grandchildren that she could cherish.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Wilson, and one brother, Ralph Wilson. She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Donald "Don" Sturgill; three daughters, Crystal (Andrew) Gillman, Brooke (Jairus) Deremer, and Andrea Elam; one step-daughter, Chesney Long; nine grandchildren, Tyler Adkins, Brendan Adkins, Haley Deremer, Darby Frederick, Peyton Frederick, Joel Frederick, Nixon Graves, Ashlynn Graves, Porter Deremer; four brothers, Rusty (Debbie) Wilson, David Wilson, Andy (Amy) Wilson, Paul (Nicole) Wilson; and four sisters, Sandy (Butch) Mood, Lora (Randy) Flake, Lisa (Alan) Wehrman, and Angie Wilson and many, many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1 - 2 PM Saturday, April 15, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. Rusty Wilson will be officiating the services. If desired and in memory of Brenda, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
