Carol B. Ousley's Obituary
OUSLEY, Carol B., age 88, of Waynesville and formerly of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton.
Carol attended Waynesville High School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Central State University. She was incredibly proud of being a teacher for Clinton Massie Schools for 30 years, retiring in May of 2000. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington. She was a member of the Ohio Farmer’s Union and the Ohio Teacher’s Association. She was involved in the annual Emmaus walk and the weekly AWANA youth group.
She always had a very positive, upbeat, and alert personality. All of her life, she acted younger than she was and even enjoyed square dancing late in life. She appreciated and loved everyone she met and was always vocal in ensuring they knew how she felt. Over the years, she collected various angels that she displayed around her house. Learning everything she could from her mother, she became a fantastic cook. Her signature dish was her mashed potatoes, made with a lot of butter and a few potatoes. Carol always looked forward to the Christmas season, when she would host a dinner for her family. She enjoyed having her Christmas tree up all year long.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus, in 1998; one grandson; her parents, Rhoads and Jean Bunnell; and one sister Rhoda Bunnell. She is survived by her two sons, Kent (Lisa) Ousley and Richard (Marsha) Ousley; four daughters, Ginger (Guy) Johnson, Jill (Greg) Wills, Diane Gross, and Kathy Johnson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Springboro Cemetery. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
