Cecelia "Pat" Rozalyn Nix's Obituary
NIX, Cecelia “Pat” Rozalyn, age 88, of Waynesville, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Cecelia graduated from Northridge High School, class of ’54. She was a secretary at IBM for nine years. Following her time at IBM, she worked at Mary L. Cook Library in Waynesville. She had an unwavering faith and read her Bible daily. She greatly looked forward to attending her Bible Study group and church on Wednesdays. She was a faithful member of the Waynesville First Baptist Church.
Family was everything to Cecelia. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandchildren. Caring and gentle, she was very intelligent and could always give the best advice. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader. With her fun and bubbly personality, which made her a best friend to many. She was entangled in anything that the family was involved in. She held on to everything, especially keepsakes, and pictures that were special to those she loved. Birthdays were very special to her, and she believed you should always have a party to celebrate. Cecelia looked forward to all the different holidays, get-togethers, and parties when the family would enjoy being with each other and sharing good food. She was an excellent cook and was well known for her homemade dishes. Every day, she drove to Centerville Kroger to walk the store, drink coffee, and talk with the locals. She did this for the exercise, but more importantly, she did it to stay connected with the community. Little getaways and trips with her family were a big part of her life. She appreciated the many trips to the library, beaches, Bible Study, and visiting the Carolinas and Myrtle Beach. Among many things, she will be remembered for the love and pride she had for her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jim” Nix, in 2015, and her parents, Robert “Bob” Black and Effie May Black. She is survived by her son, Jimmy (Tanya) Nix; daughter, Angie (David) Sewell; four grandchildren, Adrian Nix (fianceé Nicole Onderko), Tara Nix, Alicia (Brad) Wheeler, and Ashley (Josh) Martin; six great-grandchildren, Isaac, Luke, Maylee, Adeline, Ella, and Faith; and numerous dear friends from church.
