Charlene Bargo's Obituary
BARGO, Charlene, age 89, of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at The Air Hill Place in Brookville, Ohio. She was born November 3, 1931 to Harlan and Veachel Poston in Rickman, Tennessee.
Loving, strong, stubborn, loyal, sassy, independent, and especially family-oriented, Charlene greatly enjoyed shopping, camping, boating, and traveling. When her children were young, camping and boating along the Ohio River were a family favorite. In addition, trips to Dale Hollow Lake and several motorhome trips with her husband to Brownsville, Texas were also very memorable in her life. Perhaps her favorite trip however, was the three month long adventure out west with Otis after their retirement. Over the years, she spent her free time playing cards with friends and family, especially Euchre and Rummy. Among many things, she will be remembered for how much she loved hosting Christmas for the family, which involved extensive decorations, music, an array of typical Christmas dinner options, and of course shopping. Aside from the elaborate dining options at Christmas, Charlene was also known for her chicken and dumplings, apple crisp, and cornbread, which she made almost daily for Otis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis, in 2006; one son Larry Bargo; her parents; two brothers Doyle and Arnold Poston; and her sister Jean Davis. She is survived by two sons Ron B. (Judy) Bargo and Tim (Billie) Bargo; daughter Tammy (Glen) Burchfield; eight grandchildren Sara (Randy) Fite, Seth Condry Bargo, Amy (Thomas) Hertter, Steffi (Gaven) Lutz, Randi Bargo (Drew) Smith, Tori Beth Bargo (fiancé Scott Renner), Taylor Burchfield (Trevor Daniels), and Macy Burchfield; four great grandchildren Colton, Carter, Carly, and Cade; and sisters-in-law Virginia Poston and Bessie Bargo.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 10 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Dayton. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
