Charles Arvil Harrah's Obituary
HARRAH, Charles Arvil, age 85, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Otterbein Lebanon.
Charles graduated from Nuttall High School, class of ’54, and honorably served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Stolle Machinery in 2002, after 20 years of service. He was a Worshipful Master of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge, a member of the Waynesville American Legion Post 615, and a member of the Waynesville First Baptist Church.
Overall, Charles was a great guy who was easy-going, kind and laid back. In addition, he was a great husband, father, and son. He ensured that his family was well taken care of and that they always had everything they wanted. He would help anyone in need and give the shirt off his back if they needed it. Among many things, he will be remembered for how immaculate he kept his yard. He loved gardening and making sure he had the best yard around. He was proud of his thick plush grass, almost like a bed. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to watching his beloved Bengals, Buckeyes, and Cincinnati Reds.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Harrah and Irene Simmons, and one brother Roger Harrah. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty; two sons Charles “Keith” (Laurie) Harrah and Greg Lynch (fiancé Stephanie Coffman); one daughter Tammy (Mark) Fyffe; four grandchildren Alex (Rebaca) Harrah, Josh (Carolyn) Lynch, Chelsea (Sam) Hoyum, and Kyle Hamlet; and four great-grandchildren Ian, Philip, Halden, and Andrianna.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 8, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Pastor Dale McCloud will be officiating. Burial at Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
