Christel "Dawn" Jones' Obituary
JONES, Christel “Dawn”, age 49, of Blanchester, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Clinton Memorial Medical Center.
Faith was the foundation of Dawn’s life, and she was a devoted member of Lighthouse Harbor Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lebanon. Dawn’s love for the Lord was evident in all that she did. She was a woman of deep faith who spent much of her time praying for others and serving the Lord with a humble and giving heart.
In her everyday life, Dawn was loving and kind, always willing to help anyone in need. Though quiet by nature, she was a source of strength and encouragement to more people than she ever realized. Her faith carried her through life, and her steady presence brought comfort to those around her.
Dawn especially cherished time spent at home during the holidays. She found joy in cooking, decorating, and creating a warm, welcoming space for her family. She was well known for her homemade chili. Decorating the Christmas tree was one of her favorite traditions, and if it were not just right, she would lovingly take it apart and start over until it was perfect. One of her favorite pastimes was decorating her home, most recently with a farmhouse theme. She had three little Dotson dogs, which she absolutely adored. Among many things, Dawn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and the quiet strength she shared so freely with others.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Lawrence. She was survived by her mother, Sharon Lawrence, who has since passed away. In addition, she is survived by her two brothers, James (Kendra) Lawrence and Shawn (Karla) Lawrence; her sister, Elissa Lawrence; one nephew, Shawn Lawrence Jr.; two nieces, Samantha Lawrence and Kayla (Brandon) Mockabee; her great-niece, Lyla; and her great-nephew, Rhett.
A combination funeral service for Dawn and her mother, Sharon, will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Lighthouse Harbor Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lebanon. Larry Isaacs and Jeff Isaacs will be officiating. Burial will be at Sabina Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12:30 pm on Monday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made toward the funeral expenses.
