Clyde E. McCoy's Obituary
McCoy, Clyde E., age 98, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his residence.
Clyde retired from Dimcogray Corporation in Centerville in 1996 after 38 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Dixie Highway Christian Center in Franklin.
Laid-back, caring, friendly, and always down-to-earth, Clyde was always simple and family-oriented. In his early days, he greatly enjoyed vegetable gardening. In addition, he loved to go camping and fishing with his wife and family. Trips to Michigan, Caesar Creek State Park, and especially Beach Fork Lake in Huntington, West Virginia, were his favorite destinations to camp and fish. In his later years, he always looked forward to attending the short-track races with his son and grandson. Among many things, he will be remembered for his immense faith in God, how much he loved his dog, Molly, and how proud he was of his overall achievements in life regarding his simple upbringing in Kentucky. However, his love of his family was what he was most proud of. It should be noted that Clyde had so much love for his beloved wife, Cinda, that he never really moved on after her loss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cinda, in 2021; one grandson, Shane McCoy; his parents, Joe McCoy and Rebecca Hubbard-Cornett; two brothers, George and Shelly Brannons; and one sister, Geneva Brannon. He is survived by two sons, Allen (Fran) McCoy and Denzil (Arlene) McCoy; seven grandchildren, Melanie, Stephanie, Gina, Michael, Kevin, Daniel, and Andrew; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM to Noon on Saturday, June 8, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
