Connie L. Newdigate's Obituary
NEWDIGATE, Connie L., age 69, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Connie devoted nearly 40 years to accounting, most recently serving as Financial Director at Cort Furniture. She was passionate about her work and known for her dedication, organization, and strong work ethic. Accounting was more than a career to her; it was something she genuinely enjoyed and took pride in doing well.
Outside of her profession, Connie was an exceptionally talented and creative artist. She loved contemporary painting and abstract drawing, working in both oil and watercolor. She frequently created custom pieces upon request and generously gave her artwork to others. Her creativity extended into floral design, where she enjoyed creating both fresh and artificial arrangements, often selling her work at festivals, including the Honey Bee Festival and other local events. She loved the art of arrangement, purchasing materials wholesale, designing for enjoyment, and giving her something fun to do on the weekends.
Connie also found great joy in cooking. She loved experimenting in the kitchen, creating new recipes while always perfecting her family staples. She was known for her cheeseball, homemade pies, and her perfectly cooked ham. However, her potato soup was treasured by her family and friends, and the recipe remains a family secret, passed down to a granddaughter. Holidays were particularly meaningful to her, as they centered around cooking, gathering, and making memories with those she loved. She had a deep appreciation for sentimental treasures and family heirlooms from her parents, cherishing keepsakes that held special meaning. She was caring, funny, generous, and outgoing, always willing to lend a helping hand, even when someone needed long-term care. Among many things, Connie will be remembered for the pride she had in raising her two sons on her own and for how much she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl Plummer and Marilynn Plummer, and her sister, Pamela Plummer. She is survived by her two sons, Chad Newdigate (fiancé, Dana Wallace) and Ryan (April) Newdigate; her five grandchildren, Tyler Newdigate, Leah Newdigate, Autumn Newdigate (fiancé, John Phelan), Austin Newdigate, and Aidan Newdigate; her three great-grandchildren, Soah, Elaine, and Ezra; her brother, Greg (Jan) Plummer; her sister, Lynette (Ron) Weaver; and many extended family members and friends.
Private services will be at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Condolences are at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
