Darlene K. Goldie's Obituary
Darlene Kay (Reeder) Goldie was released from all pain and suffering on August 17, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Darlene Kay Reeder Goldie was born February 13, 1948, to Forrest E and Geneva Fae (Rhoades) Reeder in Springfield, OH, who preceded her in death. She was a 1966 graduate of Wilmington High School, and from there, she attended school to become a beautician.
On December 9, 1967, she married the love of her life, Phil J. Goldie, and they were happily married for over 54 years. She was the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Becky (Steve) Brannon of Dayton and Rachel Goldie of Clarksville. In addition to her daughters, she adored her grandchildren, Josh Brannon, Jack Carroll, and Megan Kyne, but her greatest joy this past year was the addition of her great-grandson, Michael Kyne. Darlene loved her family dearly and was happiest when they were all gathered together. She was especially good at getting everyone to pose for pictures (even when they didn’t want to) and then worked so hard to get all those pictures into albums. Her devotion to family led her to work hard on the family genealogy, ensuring the family's history was preserved for future generations.
She was an excellent crafter and created beautiful crewel art, macramé, quilting, knitting, and sewing. She spent over 40 years with Heartland Nursing homes as an in-house beautician. She was loved by the residents and their families and considered them all dear friends.
Darlene is also survived by her dear brother, David (Melissa) Reeder of Maineville, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Per Darlene’s wishes, there will be no service. The family thanks Hospice of Dayton for all their kindness and loving care.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and so very dear. “
Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home of Waynesville is assisting the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
