Darlene Malicote's Obituary
MALICOTE, Darlene, age 87, of Loveland, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at Bethesda North Hospital.
Darlene graduated from Bell County High School in Kentucky. After 30 years of service, she retired from the Totes Factory as an inspector in 1998. She had a great sense of humor even into her later age. She enjoyed dirty jokes and would look forward to swapping different ones with her colleagues at work. You could often see her rolling her eyes at you. She loved her family and her home. Her home was the central point for any event and for everyone in her family. Her home was her comfort zone, and she didn’t like leaving. Everyone, at some point or another, would end up at her house, and it became the focal point in everyone’s lives. The highlight of her day was having friends and family members visit her. She took great pride in being able to raise her family and take care of them. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would invite the whole family to her house every Christmas Eve to celebrate the holiday season. She had a soft spot for animals, especially cats. One of her favorite pastimes was watching and feeding the birds on her porch. Darlene was a great cook and well-known for her peanut butter fudge.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles, in 2018; one son, Cobey Wilson; one daughter, Christy Lynn Malicote; her parents, Matthew and Rachael McGeorge; four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Justin (Virginia) Wilson; one daughter, Patricia Wilson; two step-sons, Mark (Tammie) Malicote and Scott (Rhonda) Malicote; one daughter-in-law, Patty Wilson; ten grandchildren, Mick (Kristen) Wilson, Chad (Dallas) Wilson, Jennifer (Joe) Galavin, Timothy (Christy) Miracle, Julie (Jonathan) Payton, Jake (Harita) Wilson, Mandy (Joe) Malicote, Nick Talley, Nicole (Brandon) Shaw, and Lacey (Bobby) Kuntz; 12 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and her favorite niece, Connie Bettinger.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, March 4, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery in Corwin. Steve Renfrow will be officiating the services. The family will receive friends from 11 AM - 1 PM Monday at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
