David C. Copas' Obituary
COPAS, David C., age 75, of Springboro, passed away Fri. March 2, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center.
David graduated from Waynesville High School, class of ’60, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for over 10 years at Dayton Tire and Rubber and retired from GM-Delphi after more than 20 years of service.
Highly athletic, David greatly enjoyed a variety of sports over the years. In 2011, he was inducted into the Waynesville Athletic Hall of Fame. He was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. His granddaughters were the greatest joy in his life and he greatly enjoyed spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mildred Copas; two brothers Jerry and Ronnie Copas; one sister Linda Lewis; and brother-in-law Harley Plymire. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marsha; daughter Christy (Scott) Jacobs; son Michael Copas; two granddaughters Kailey and Sydney Jacobs; one brother Steve Copas; four sisters Nancy (Charles) Livingston, Shirley Plymire, Sharon Copas, and Rita (Charles) Lowe; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Skip Stiles.
