David Rice's Obituary
RICE, David A. age 58 of Waynesville and formerly of Springfield passed away Thurs. April 30, 2009 at 4:30 PM in Hospice of Dayton after a two year battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 21, 1950 to the late Lester C. and Margaret (Sparrow) Rice. David retired from Navistar in 2002 with 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Penny (Strome); two sons and daughters-in-law Todd and Jennifer Rice of Waynesville and Josh and Katie Rice of Wisconsin; five beautiful grandchildren Ashton, Riley, and Cole Rice of Waynesville and Arlo and Etta Rice of Wisconsin; two brothers Ronald and Richard Rice; and brother-in-law Dan Strome. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren while watching and playing sports, playing games, and going fishing. Memorial services 7 PM Thurs. May 7 at the North Hampton Community Church 105 N. Main St. North Hampton, Ohio. Pastor Jim Welch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thurs. at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. The family would like to thank Dr. Singh and staff at the Canter Center, Tracey Purdue at Community Care Hospice, and Hospice of Dayton.
