Dennis Hoffer's Obituary
HOFFER, Dennis Wade age 84 of Spring Valley passed away Tues. Oct. 18, 2011 at his residence. A WWII Army veteran, he served in Germany and Japan. He retired from NCR after 30 years of service and later from Acme Screw Company. He was a member of Southern Ohio Forge & Anvil (blacksmith). An avid gardener, he also enjoyed ornamental iron work, nature, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha in 2005; his parents James and Ethel Hoffer; two brothers Dave and Carl Hoffer; and one sister Kathleen Clark. He is survived by four sons Dennis, Card (Sandy), Dan (Joyce), and Tom Hoffer; three daughters Marjorie Elaine Layne, Miriam Faye (Gary) Burtch, Mary Alice (Mike) Waggoner; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers Russell (Rosemary) and Ted (Shirley) Hoffer; one sister Marie (John) Williamson; and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services 10 AM Sat. Oct. 22 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Burial in Clinton County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Fri. at the funeral home.
