Diana Rae Back's Obituary
BACK, Diana Rae, age 79, of Largo, FL and formerly of Waynesville, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021.
Diana was a graduate of Waynesville High School, class of ’60, where she met her husband in the first grade. She was also a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church.
With a feisty, spunky, and loving personality, Diana was a brave fighter even toward the end of her life. She greatly enjoyed traveling to Disney World and watching western movies on the TV. Another of her favorite activities included being able to cook delicious dishes for her family, especially during the holidays. She absolutely loved Christmas and was even giving orders to her family about decorations until the very end. The family gained peace knowing that she passed away on Black Friday, her favorite day of the year. Among many things, she will be remembered for how much she loved and treasured her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Emogene Dumford. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Stephen Back; one son Brian (Debi) Back; daughter Stephanie Thomson; two grandchildren Dale Back and Stephen Thomson; and one cousin Judy Botsford.
A graveside service will be 11 am on Friday, December 17, at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
