Diana L. Davis' Obituary
DAVIS, Diana L., age 68, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Diana retired from Lebanon City Schools after teaching for 35 years. She was active with the Lebanon Toys for Tots and participated in the program for many years. This program is now called Lebanon’s Christmas for Tots. In addition, while her kids were growing up, she served as a Girls Scout Troop Leader and coached youth soccer, softball, and cheerleading. Her involvement with youth happily continued with her grandchildren as well.
Attentive to others, thoughtful, giving, and known for her affectionate smile, Diana loved children and always gave her time and love to them. She had an excellent memory and always remembered the children she coached and the students she taught in school. She never hesitated to express her affection for others and often sent notes out to others, so they knew she cared. She immensely enjoyed traveling, especially searching for lighthouses and traveling with the grandchildren. She enjoyed the years she spent in Florida during the colder months. Among many things, she will be remembered for how much she sought out opportunities for kids, especially assisting them with visits to Space Camp and Europe. In addition, her love for the holidays will always be treasured, specifically how she always decorated and got into the spirit of the season via gifts. She loved all the holidays, even the less common ones of St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2010, and her parents, John and Della Hitchcock. She is survived by two daughters, Angie (Mark) Holly and Dawn Davis (Jay Deyhle); Devin Monroe; six grandchildren, Tristan, Hayden, and Ethan Holly, Isabelle Davis, and Danielle and William Deyhle; three brothers, Danny (Becky), John (Debbie), and Ron Hitchcock; two sisters, Karen (Bill) Fox and Sheila (John) O’Brien; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:00 - 3:00 PM Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation 3:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, January 3 at Lebanon Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to Lebanon’s Christmas for Tots, PO Box 521, Lebanon, Ohio 45036. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
