Dolores A. Dober's Obituary
DOBER, Dolores A., age 85, passed peacefully Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Hospice of Butler/ Warren County. She was born October 17, 1935, to Samuel Neldon and Maxine Bricker-Swigert in Coshocton, Ohio.
Dolores graduated from Coshocton High School, class of 1953. She received a Bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University and later continued her education by receiving a Master’s degree from Ohio State University. She retired in 1997 after more than 30 years of teaching for Coshocton Public Schools. She taught middle school reading, spelling, and Honors English. She loved teaching and especially enjoyed devising lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style.
Dolores was an avid reader all her life. While her favorite genre was mysteries, she read fiction and non-fiction alike. She was known to stack books on her book shelves 2 deep and buy hardback and paperback copies of her favorite books. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching movies and playing cards, Scrabble and other games with her many friends. After retirement, Dolores pursued a lifelong desire to learn to paint with watercolors. She became quite skilled and painted many still-lifes and landscapes. Dolores was a wonderful listener. People she had just met would feel comfortable confiding in her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1982, and her parents. She is survived by two sons Paul (Kathy) Dober and Chris Dober; two daughters Eva (Jon) Scheetz and Teresa Plamondon; son-in-law Stan Plamondon; four grandchildren Samantha (Brian) Daniel, Lucas (Valerie) Scheetz, Deena Plamondon, and Emma Scheetz; three great grandchildren Aiden, Natalie, and Colton; and close friend of many years, Carole Todd.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Darling Run Cemetery in Nellie, Ohio. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45420. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
