She was born on March 1st, 1932 to Felecia and Elmo Wilson and married Benjamin Hisey on Sept. 18, 1954. She lived in Lebanon, Waynesville, and Greenfield, Ohio.
Preferring to be called Diane instead of Doloros, she was the wife of Benjamin Hisey; sister to Helen (Al) Voorhis and William (Jane) Wilson; mother of Holly Hisey, David (Brigitte) Hisey, and Christopher Hisey; grandmother to Benjamin and Madison Hisey; sister-in-law to Helen Hisey (Don) Brown, JoAnna Hisey (William) Mitford, and Bill (Sue) Hisey; and daughter-in-law to Clara (John C.) Diane loved being a teacher as she taught for 40 years. She taught fifth grade and art at Wayne Local Schools in Waynesville, Ohio and high school art at Paint Valley Local Schools in Bainbridge, Ohio. She also enjoyed teaching art lessons privately for many years in many different locations. She also taught as a substitute teacher in many school districts after her retirement. Diane was farm kid, then a farm wife all her life, participating in those activities associated with farm living. She acted as manager and accountant of the farming operation for many years.
Diane was born during the Great Depression, once stating that, “later in life, I realized that when growing up my family was probably very poor, but because of my "family", I never felt poor.” She carried this philosophy of family all through her life.
