Donald W. Moore's Obituary
MOORE, Donald W., age 69, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.
Don worked most of his life in construction, performing concrete related jobs.
Optimistic, easy-going, and laid-back, Don was helpful, took pride in taking care of everyone, and loved to make people laugh. Musically talented, he loved music his entire life. During his younger days, he played in a band called Echelon. He greatly enjoyed writing songs, singing, and playing guitar during his time in the band. Extremely family-oriented, Don greatly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed taking the grandkids fishing and doing whatever activity they preferred to do together. Mechanically inclined, he enjoyed projects whereby he could fix and build just about anything. As an example, he worked on electric bikes and dirt bikes, especially if it benefited his family or friends. His other hobbies included watching the Cincinnati Bengals and cooking. Family will never forget his delicious lasagna, chili spaghetti, and beef tips and noodles that he often prepared. Family will also remember all of the family get-togethers, holidays, and events with Don, which often involved him cooking or grilling to cater to family and friends. He also enjoyed taking his family to the WEBN fireworks during Labor Day weekend, which became a fond family tradition. Among many things, he will be remembered for his love of family, music, and guitars. He was particularly fond of Gibson brand guitars.
He was preceded in death by his former spouse, Sherry Moore (Couch); his parents, Marvin and Sally Moore; and three sisters, Sandy Moore, Lori Bacovcin, and Susan Robinson. He is survived by daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Lukes; sons, Timmy (Jamie) Gray and Chadd Moore; fianceé, Regina McCoy; step children, Melinda and Melissa Shaffer; nine grandchildren, Kohen, Hayden, Samuel, Tori, Derek, T.J., Jaxson, Brooklynn, Kendall, Dray, Logan, Kailey, Carissa, and Andy; several step great-grandchildren; three siblings, Pat Moore, Donna Campbell, and Terry Moore; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Full Gospel Church of God in Lebanon. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1 PM on Saturday at the church. Sammy Reed and Matt Morgan will be officiating the services. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery in Union Township. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers and in Don’s memory, contributions may be made toward the funeral expenses. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
