Donald R. Wells' Obituary
WELLS, Donald R., age 76, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the Laurels of Blanchester.
Donald retired from GM after 30 years of service to the company. Loyal to GM throughout his life, he joked with a relative that he’d “rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford.”
Outgoing, giving, and a jokester, Donald had a great personality full of charisma and charm, especially toward ladies he often complimented. He was quite the handyman and could fix anything. He bought several homes over the years to fix up and sell for a profit. He also enjoyed working on cars, mowers, and anything else he needed to be fixed. He especially loved older cars. He once owned a Pontiac GTO, which he often talked about fondly in his later years. He enjoyed working in his yard, keeping his grass and landscaping well-manicured. In addition, he was known to keep a garden for several years. Among many things, Donald will be remembered for how much he enjoyed traveling to South Carolina to visit his brother and sister-in-law each year, which became one of his favorite traditions.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Morrison; his parents, Dorsey and Lily Wells; four brothers, Rev. Charles Wells, Courtney Wells, Freddie Wells, and Jerry Wells; and one sister, Norma Jean Brown. He is survived by two grandchildren, Emily (Amadeus) Durbin and Joey Morrison; one sister, Sue Dick; son-in-law, Jay Morrison; friend, Judy Mitchell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 8, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 12 - 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
