Doris Jean Banks' Obituary
BANKS, Doris Jean, age 75, of Waynesville and formerly of Franklin, passed away Mon. Oct. 8, 2018 at her residence.
Jean worked 27 years for Sears at the Towne Mall in Middletown. She was quick witted, strong willed, high spirited, and ornery at times. She greatly enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a classy lady and preferred dressing up and wearing nice clothes. She took the opportunity to laugh often, and spent her later days sipping her coffee and admiring the birds from her back porch. In addition to her excellent fried chicken and tuna salad, she will especially be remembered for her determination she exhibited while raising her children and for the numerous trips to Kentucky to visit family.
She was preceded in death by a step son Darrell “Duke” Banks, one grandson Brandon Manz, her parents Dallas and Mary Lou Reffitt, one brother Roger Reffitt, and two sisters Georgia Moon and Ann Brewer. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Darel; two daughters Velma (Dale) McKinney and Jackie Royalty (Jack) Greer; son Shane (Jeri) Murray; step daughter Sherry (Steve) Manz; 10 grandchildren Katrina, Jeremy, Matthew, Megan, Logan, Rachel, Casie, Jessica, Dillon, and Alex; eight great grandchildren; two brothers Dean (Penny) Reffitt and Jerry (Linda) Reffitt; and one sister Linda (Bill) Burus.
A funeral service will be held 12 PM Thurs. Oct. 11 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Greg Banks will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 12 PM Thurs. at the funeral home. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
