Dorothy V. Silcox's Obituary
SILCOX, Dorothy V. age 89, of Waynesville and formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Wed. Nov. 23, 2016. Dorothy graduated from Berea College in KY with a Bachelor's Degree. She greatly enjoyed working for Copper Kraft in Cincinnati for 10 years, where she won several performance rewards allowing her to travel. Following her time at Copper Kraft, she managed the Longview Motel in Myrtle Beach, SC for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her husband Kermit in 2000; her parents Edwin and Pearl Vanover; one brother Richard Vanover; and three sisters Minerva Jane Greene, Joyce Hastings, and Sonna Raye Vanover. She is survived by five children Brenda E. (Bruce) Keller, Gary A. Silcox, Pamela E. Brannen, Kermit T. Silcox, and Grant E. (Cathy) Silcox; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two brothers Eugene (Estelle) Vanover and Joel (Bonnie) Vanover. Funeral services 1 PM Sat. Nov. 26 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville. Bill Burroughs will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Sat. at the funeral home.
