Douglas Brock's Obituary
BROCK, Douglas, age 65, of South Lebanon and formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022.
Douglas loved the trucking life and worked hard his entire life. He was currently employed at R+L Carriers since 2000. In those early years at R+L, he also worked for over ten years for Airborne in Wilmington.
Shy, loving, and caring, Douglas had faith in God and loved his family. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved buying, trading, and selling items, especially items others were willing to cast away. He had a small booth in a local shop where he liked selling his items of interest. He appreciated country music, especially Dolly Parton's and Loretta Lynn's traditional songs. Along with his family, he had a tradition of traveling to the Smoky Mountains each year, where they usually stayed in a cabin together. He always insisted on traveling to Cades Cove yearly to see the wildlife and the beautiful scenery. He loved horses, so they always visited the Dixie Stampede during their visits each year for fun. Among many things, he will be remembered for how much he adored his grandchildren and how much he enjoyed getting together with family for the holidays.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ail James and Lydia Jean Brock, and five brothers, Everett, Emmanuel, Paul, Clifford, and Jerry Brock. He is survived by four daughters, Jackie (Pastor Brian) Smith, Jamie (Greg) Wright, Jodie (Doug) Lowe, and Jessie Delph (Patrick); nine grandchildren, Pastor Dakota, Faith (Alex), Danielle, Isaiah, twins Grace and Hope, Jodicy, Jolie, and Daxton; great-granddaughter, Raelyn; one great-grandchild on the way; his sister, Shirley Terry; and special nieces who Douglas was always close to, Kay and Kelly Terry.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Wednesday, November 23, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Pastor Brian Smith, Pastor Dakota Smith, and Pastor Raymond Smith will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Blanchester. The family will receive friends from 11 AM-Noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
