Easter Garrett-Taylor's Obituary
Garrett-Taylor, Easter of Corwin went to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Her
favorite hobbies included gardening, cooking, playing games, shopping, and spending
time with her church family at Corwin Pentecostal Church, where she was a faithful
member for over 50 years. At 85 years old, she was proof that, even though you may
have some wrinkles, you can still be stylin’ and profilin’. She was born to Jack and
Flora Sharp on June 9, 1930. She married James C. Garrett on February 26, 1949.
They were blessed with two children: Kenneth (Betty) Garrett and Glenda Sue (Dave)
Lamb. She was married to James for 44 years, before he went to be with the Lord. On
September 1, 1995, she married Columbus Taylor, Jr. and added to the family four
stepdaughters and one stepson: Debra (Mike) Sheets, Teresa Bonardi, Sandra
(Shayne) Lamb, Lisa (Mike) Parrish, and Mike (Kim) Taylor. She was such a doting
sister to her only remaining sibling, Raymond (Barbara) Sharp, that she was like his
second mother. She was “Nanny” to all and was loved greatly by her family. Her 17
grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren were the
sunshine in her life. Funeral services: 11 am Thursday, March 24, at the Corwin
Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive
friends 5-9 pm Wednesday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville,
is serving the family. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
