Edward "Jack" H. Dick's Obituary
DICK, Edward “Jack” H., age 80, of Lebanon and formerly of Morrow, passed away Fri. April 12, 2019 at Carlisle Manor.
Jack retired from Voith Corporation of Monroe in 1999 after 39 years of service. He formerly served as president of the Monroe branch of the IAM Local Union.
Quiet, calm, and patient, Jack was the type of guy who could fix anything. As an active and faithful member of the Clarksville Pentecostal Church, he greatly enjoyed singing and playing the bass guitar. He took advantage of any opportunity to go fishing or build something with his tools. He collected pocket knives and loved to eat, especially Cheerios, bananas, oatmeal cream pies, and homemade apple pies. He will be remembered for his love of West Virginia and the way he looked forward to “going home” for visits.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Maycle Dick and his sister Dorothy Walker. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue; daughter Candy (Michael) Bailey; son Greg Dick (fiancee Valerie Rodriguez); four grandchildren Tony, Austin, Brianna, and Madison; and one brother Richard (Shelby) Dick.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tues. April 16 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. The family will receive friends 11 AM - 1 PM Tues. at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
