Rev. Edward Pennington's Obituary
PENNINGTON, Rev. Edward, age 84, of Dayton, passed away Sun. March 25, 2018 at his residence.
Rev. Pennington is a member and was the former pastor of the Full Gospel Holiness Church in Miamisburg for 22 years. He retired from GM-Harrison Radiator in 1985 after 32 years of service.
Steadfast, somewhat quiet, and easy going, Rev. Pennington also had a playful side, especially when pestering his grandchildren. Over the years, he greatly enjoyed visiting other churches, fishing, and gardening. Some of the more memorable moments in his life came during the family fishing trips to Michigan and Canada and sitting under their big maple tree at Rocky Fork Lake. Throughout his life however, church was his most important focus. In regard to unwavering faith, family, commonwealth, and country, he was awarded the title of Kentucky Colonel many years ago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean, last September; one son Donald Keith Pennington; one granddaughter Chloe Pennington; his parents Ben and Ottie Pennington; and two sisters Evelyn Tackett and Norma Jean Hobbs. He is survived by his son Dale (Deborah) Pennington; daughter Crystal (David) Light; 7 grandchildren Wesley, Derek, Cari, Leah, Lindsey, Alicia and Sara; 16 great grandchildren; and two brothers Marvin (Sue) Pennington and Arvel (Jeanette) Hurst.
