Elizabeth "Betty" A. Lamb's Obituary
LAMB, Elizabeth “Betty” A., age 89, of Waynesville, went home Monday, December 18, 2023.
Betty was a majorette at Mason High School. She was fantastic at doing tricks and would perform them as she got older if someone requested. From a young age, she loved to be outside. One of her highlights growing up was helping her dad with the dairy farm. She loved working for GM and especially enjoyed the people she worked with there. After working 24.8 years, she retired from GM in 2003. The same year she retired, she started working at the Lebanon Walmart, where she worked as a cashier for 12 years. She was a long and faithful member of the Corwin Pentecostal Church. She had a tradition of reading her Bible daily and studying the Word. Betty was known for never being a worrier, was always very positive, and had a jolly demeanor. Christmas was her favorite thing all year; she loved all the family being together for the holiday. Among many things, she will be remembered for the love and pride she had in her kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett V. Lamb, in 2022; one son, Kevin Lamb; son-in-law, Perry Johnson; her parents, Robert and Callie Amburgy; five brothers, Cortis, Charlie, Elmo, Clarence, and Reagan Amburgy; and four sisters, Lena, Ruby, Ruth, and Stella. She is survived by her son, Dave (Sue) Lamb; daughter, Susan Johnson; daughter-in-law, Trisha Lamb; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Laura) Lamb, Holly (Steve) Vance, Rebecca Johnson, Kara Madison Johnson, Megan (Scott) Rothenbush, Kyle (Ashley) Lamb, and MacKenna Lamb; five great-grandchildren, Jonas, Brendan, Kiernan, Aeyla, Tristan, and one great-grandson with an expected arrival of April 2024, Kohen Everett Lamb; one sister, Nancy (Arvie)Scott; one brother-in-law, Ralph Lamb; one sister-in-law, Darlene Lamb; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, December 21, at Corwin Pentecostal Church. Randy Brown will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 1 PM Thursday at the church. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville is serving the family. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
