Elizabeth J. Gault's Obituary
GAULT, Elizabeth “Aunt Bette” Reid age 82, passed away peacefully at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville on Fri. May 11, 2007. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her first husband Marshall E. Reid; second husband George W. Gault; her parents Allen Brown and Emma Scott; her brothers William, Earle, and Allen Brown; her sister Ellen Thomas. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marsha and Steven Whitlock; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly; two sisters-in-law Audrey Brown and Doris Reid; and many lifetime friends. She was born and raised in Washington D.C., lived in Alexandria, VA in her early adult years, Harpers Ferry, WV in her later years, and with her daughter and son-in-law the past four years. She enjoyed life and even though she had to confront one major medical problem after another for the past five years, she endured them all. She worked for the federal government as a secretary, did volunteer work for the Red Cross, was very active in the Episcopal Church, loved to travel, enjoyed music of every kind, and had a passion for dancing. She had been active in many organizations and was a continuous supporter of law enforcement organizations. Memorial services Noon Sat. May 26 at the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Waynesville. She will be laid to rest by her first husband Marshall in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church or Quaker Heights Nursing Home.
