Elsie L. Kump's Obituary
KUMP, Elsie Lorraine entered the kingdom of Heaven today to be reunited with her Lord and her husband of 65 years, Leslie Kump. Elsie was born to George Walter Sanders and Minnie Rupert Sanders in Grayson, KY, on October 4, 1921. She graduated from Morehead, KY, and taught elementary Education for 30 years, mostly in Poland, Ohio. She married Leslie Kump, her soul mate, on January 24, 1949. They had a wonderful life together. Where you saw one, you could find the other. Elsie was loved by all who knew her. She and Les had a strong Christian faith and belonged to the Presbyterian Church; most recently to the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Previously they were members of the Heritage Presbyterian Church of Centerville. They moved to Ohio from Atlanta to care for her ailing sister at Mount Pleasant. She served the Lord through her artwork and her love of baking. From wall hangings, carvings and intricately painted treasures to delicate nativity pieces, she was always willing to put her skills to work in His name. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy "Dottie" and Lucy, and her husband of 65 years, Leslie J. Kump. Those of us who knew and loved her will miss her immensely. Funeral services 11 AM Wed. Jan. 27 at Mary Kittridge Chapel at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, Monroe. Rev. Karen Fleming will be officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wed. at the chapel. Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Life Care Fund 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, OH 45050. Condolences at www.stubbsconner.com.
