Mrs. Vecella was mine and my sister’s Sunday school teacher in Islamorada. Her passion for the word was so clear as she taught us the Bible. Her smile when she greeted us in the morning was infections and will live in my memory forever. She worked so hard to prepare a wonderful and unforgettable lesson every Sunday for our small but so special class. She was so happy to see us learning, and her honest passion for teaching was evident every time we saw her. As a group and under her leadership, we named the classroom and class The Keys to the Kingdom. I have recalled those lessons learned over my adult life. It was evident that she indeed knew the keys to the kingdom and wanted us to have the same. I will always be thankful for the lessons she prepared and the way she presented them. She would often leave us with a puzzling question or fun fact about a person from the Bible. Questions she didn't even know the answers too…. I’ll bet she has those answers now!
Looking back over the years we shared with Mr. Frank and Mrs. Emily, it’s hard to imagine church without Sunday School, and church without talking fishing and excerpts from the Florida Sportsman magazine with Mr. Frank!
An unforgettable blessing in my life and so many others.
I am sorry for your loss, but Mrs. Emily will live on in my heart forever.
Sincerely
K.C. Knudsen
